OUR CONDUCTOR/ ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

 

Carol Arrucci is an award winning, 30-year veteran music teacher. She has also conducted, vocal directed and played piano for over 200 local and professional musical theatre productions. Opening The Cortlandt School of Performing Arts has been a dream for many years and in 2012 became a reality when she and her husband opened the music school in Croton. She retired from the Hen Hud School District to give CSPA her full-time attention. The Westchester Women’s Chorus is an extension of the private lessons offered at CSPA, as she guides and educates the vocalists and offering musical training and vocal technique, while preparing for performances. Carol has been passionate about training professional children and adults for over 25 years having done so in the community and on Broadway.  Her passion is choral conducting, and has had many experiences conducting orchestras, accompanying vocalists and singing professionally. Carol's 'Dreamcoat Chorus' was cast in the Broadway show "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" which ran in NYC in 1993-1994. She has also produced many shows at The Paramount Hudson Valley, Westchester Broadway Theatre and other local venues, serving also as Musical Director for fundraising events at The Peekskill Hudson Room, Westchester Broadway Theatre and at CSPA.  The Cortlandt School of Performing Arts is currently the largest music school in upper Westchester, drawing students from Ossining, Briarcliff, Croton, Pleasantville, Chappaqua, Peekskill and the Tarrytown area as well as the Yorktown, Lakeland, Putnam Valley, Somers and Cortlandt Manor vicinities, offering instrumental lessons and voice at all level for all ages, as well as instrument rentals.
